Molonovich stirred, his body aching as he pushed himself up from the twisted metal of the wrecked spaceship. The air was thick, humid, and unfamiliar. Around him stretched an endless expanse of strange rainforest, alien trees towering like silent borders. He scanned the debris, calling out for his crew, but only the eerie growls of unseen creatures answered.

His mind flashed back to the argument—the heated exchange with his co-pilot, Ivan. They had clashed over the navigation route, Molonovich insisting on a shortcut through an unstable nebula, and Ivan insisting that it's time to go back. In the end, Ivan, and half of their teammates, abandoned the ship. Their betrayal caused his authority to shudder. Explosive motors left unchecked as manpower had halved, alarms blaring, and then—impact.

Now, as he sifted through the wreckage, he found no survivors. Daria’s lifeless body lay pinned under a collapsed console, her face unrecognizable in hellfire. Molonovich’s chest tightened, guilt clawing at his weak heart. He fell to his knees, the weight of his arrogance crushing him more than the wreckage ever could. The leaves of the unique fauna seemed to close in, a living reminder of his failure.
