You awake in a strange place. Judging from the objects around you, it is a different age. Continue the story.

Excessively Dramatic Monologues I Imagine we all have Before Death
My eyes bore into the steaming plate as its smell wrapped around my stomach and pulled. I feel an ironic nostalgia as the aroma makes me prophesize the meat stew my dad would make me. I always felt so wonderfully alone in his kitchen. There was a window over the sink, and from 4:15 to 4:56 the light would shine directly on the small gap between the counters. For the entire summer after 4th grade, I would sit in the sunshine with one knee touching the oven and the other touching the dishwasher, basking in the importance every action I made had on the delicate habitat that only existed then, and the terrifying realization that no one would notice. That is what it feels like to be here, some odd hundred years before I was born. I can't eat or drink water because my immune system hasn't been introduced to this times bacteria and viruses, the only thing I can do is wait to die slowly, hoping nobody notices me and terrified that the vague smell of a soup akin to my dad's stew, will be the only soothing hand to guide me to the other side.
