A father drops off his kids at school, his phone rings...he knows exactly who it is...and what they want...the only thing he doesn't know is why.

title: what is home?
My father cherished our time with family together, despite his busy schedule, I was seeing in his attempts that he did his hardest to constantly contribute to our lives. These modest gestures brought him closer to us in an unique manner, but this time he was distinct.
On a random Sunday morning, he was dropping us off at school while the radio played classical a music in the background, Nonetheless, this time he swayed from one direction to the next making me a little apprehensive .

"I want you to promise me something," the father murmured, hopelessly. "No matter what happens, ones strivings for humanity should always come first, never lose you're morals or values, and always pick one‟s heart,"

I glanced into his green pericy eyes, and he appeared remorseful, as if he were bearing the weight of the world on his shoulders, while also attempting to transmit safety and warmth in his deadliest grin.

My father then received a telephone call, and as the phone buzzed, tears welled up in his eyes and landed on his cheeks. "Your father will be the villain of the story, princess," he declared, i knew by then that the russian military officer that was once the person i look upto , will turn to one of those people that striked those innocents Ukrainians.

what is homeland afterall? a thought that haunted me since i was a child.

Life is only worth it if its a little bit uncertain. If I could predict the breeze and know the name intention and history of every person I met, then I would find it hard to get out of bed in the mourning. Coincidentally, life is only worth it if you have a few certainties. We can only live in this world because we trust that our feet will stay firmly planted to the ground, and that your mothers nose will stay firmly pointed up. I am about to enter a very uncertain situation. But my love for the three of you is one of the few certainties I will hold onto. Trust that I will never let it go.
