GLARING WITH GREEN EYES
HE GLARES AT HIS FAMILY THROUGH THE OPEN WINDOW WITH HIS GLOWING GREEN EYES.
HE LOOKS DOWN AT A PHOTO OF HE AND HIS FAMILY. THEY ALL LOOK SO HAPPY WITH HIM IN THE CORNER OF THE FRAME. BUT NONE OF THEM ARE LIKE HIM. THATS WHY HE DESERVES TO BE AT THE CENTER.
HE PULLS THE COMPONENTS OF THE GUN FROM HIS DRAWER AND SPILLS THEM ONTO HIS DESK. THEY COVER THE FAMILY PHOTO.
SO HE GLARES BACK OUT OF THE WINDOW.
THEY’RE ALL SAYING HE HAS MENTAL ISSUES AND THAT HES SELFISH BECAUSE HE WONT LET THEM HAVE WHATS RIGHTFULLY HIS.
HE ASSEMBLES THE GUN.
HE COCKS IT.
HE WANTS TO BE OUTSIDE BUT ALL OF HIS DOORS ARE LOCKED. HE LOCKED THEM BECAUSE HE WANTS TO GLARE THROUGH THE WINDOW. HE WANTS TO GLARE THROUGH THE WINDOW BECAUSE HE WANTS TO BE OUTSIDE.
HE AIMES.
HE FIRES.

Hey Abby,
I really liked your unique writing style. I also love how you touched down on the gun violence and mental health issues that are plaguing the world right now. I would love to read whatever you come up with next week!

Outside (150 words)

Tree after tree, going to a brand new house ugh I hate it, Im in my room and I start to unpack my clothes and a window is there, “Why is there a window In my closet” I screamed, my mother entered the room “what, you must be tired go sleep” and left my room I stared at the mirror, a date popped up saying 20 september 2022, that’s one month, after the date I saw chaos, people running, and fire I was terrified I took the mirror and throw it to the box and it shattered, the broken glass showed me, dead, oh my god I took it and shoved it in my bag. Next day “Ufo spotted” I walked passed the Tv. Two days before the day, “are aliens real” News said, one day “Explosion happened on avenue road” next day, Screams, fire, explosion, chaos, and lastly death

I absolutely loved the way this story started it out with a pretty relatable premise and moved slowly into more dark themes(seriously there is nothing more annoying than unloading boxes). I also liked how creatively you used the window prompt!

The wonders of Music

Through her ivory lined window, Teresa could see wonders that go beyond imagination.
Her window faced the town square, so she had a first class seat to all kinds of special events within the luxury of home.
One particularly bright day, as Teresa busied herself with housework, she glimpsed some commotion outside and, when she looked, the sight swept her off her feet.
Right outside lay a widely covered space with instruments and musicians; an orchestra.
Teresa sat on the windowsill and watched them practice for hours, she loved the way the violinist swiftly moved his bow over the instrument and how the pianist gracefully moved his fingers along the keys. But, what amazed her most was their harmony. Through her window, music became her reality, the reality she’d always dreamt of at night.
At that moment a passion was born into her soul, a passion as clear as glass.

The descriptiveness in this story blew me away! I really loved the way you created a whole world in a few words. I had a really hard time not choosing this story.

Sit With Me (150)

Press your fingertips to frosted glass, feel the cold against your sallow palms, watch your knuckles grow ruddy, and your nose follow close behind. Breathe in the scent of cool, of nutmeg and cinnamon and gingerbread men and women, of promise on winter's eve. Run chaffed fingers through clotted hair, cold nails dug into scalps, and when your hair starts to fall, don't forget to press those fingers back against the window again. You stare until your eyes are sore and snowblind, and you smile until your jaw hangs loose and press your hands to that window until, they too, have frosted over. Knowing I am not guaranteed, you persevere, peering out that freezing glass, and if you see an iota, a fleck, or even a speck of white fall from that ash-colored sky, you'll thank me, won't you Fingers, blackened and unfeeling against the glass; Aren't you glad I asked you to sit with me?

The flow here is incredible , it pulls you in and rarely lets you go. I also really enjoyed the almost Kafkian style of description. I really look forward to your future writing!
