When Isaac Newton put down his quill and picked up his grandfather's violin, the world suffered. With Isaac's negligence, and with the unnoticed apple (Isaac was trying to compose a tune that sounded strangely similar to Bad Romance by Lady Gaga), he failed to do the one thing he had to do for humanity to progress: invent gravity. And by the time the apple fell, it was too late... there was nobody else to sit under the tree. Isaac's violin continued to be a floating violin, and Isaac continued to be a floating Isaac, for the rest of time. Not only was there no gravity, there was also no calculus. This left mathematics teachers across the world hovering near their blackboards, wondering just what was missing. Oh yeah, and man also never went to the moon. How unfortunate for us. I'm sure the Russians will figure it out eventually.

Thank you for participating in this week's prompt. I thoroughly enjoyed reading both your responses, it was probably the hardest to choose out of all the weeks because both were very imaginative pieces, and it probably could've gone either way. Lina, I liked how the subtlety of the piece tied together fluidly to(what I'm assuming) lead to the rock climber, Michelangelo, on the painting, which I thought was interesting considering everybody is always looking up at the painting. Lara, I loved how you considered the effects of Newton's actions in a surreal way to pursue his individual goals in a space other than music, yet still was able to excel in the end on a positive note. There is also definitely that component of interacting with the different time & space with my favorite song, "Bad Romance." I chose Lina this week as the winner. Both keep writing!
