Your Prompt:
Prompt: It is 2076, and you work for a newspaper. Write an article about something that you believe can occur in the near future.

Word Count: 150 - 200 words (no more, no less)

Expectations:
-Remember that you are writing for the Koç School's community. Please be respectful of that community.
-Respect the word count
-Your work should have a title--this is not part of your word count.
-Include your full name and word count at the end of your submission.
-Have fun with this challenge.

Breaking News: Mars Mission Gone Wrong

The highly awaited Mars mission that took 2,000 volunteers to Mars for a 2-month stay has had an unexpected turn of events and is now the cause of a toxic gas leak. This unknown substance resulted in a strict order from the government: stay indoors and cut all contact with the outside.

While the government may have informed its citizens that this is simply a precaution, scientists argue that there is more to this gas leak than what is published. Authorities assure individuals that professionals are working to help decrease the effects of this substance but command them to refrain from opening any windows or doors and stepping outside until further notice.

For those who have been wondering how they will have access to food, officials have explained that tomorrow at 1.00 p.m., the new invention “SmartBots” will start distributing meals. It has been advised that the packaging should not be made contact with until after an entire hour and kept in an isolated room. How long this might take is still undisclosed, but it is estimated that around a 3-week quarantine may be ahead of America.

A few notes from this week's judge, Omer:
I really liked the fact that she wrote quite formally; therefore, it actually looked like something you can see on a newspaper in a future date. In addition, I was quite a fan of the fact that the things she mentioned are exceedingly probable to occur in future, so it was really realistic.
